The included versions

FlowCast includes 30 English versions, so it operates without internet from the first start. Select a version in the version menu of the Scriptures panel. The menu lists the versions that churches use most first:

KJV, NIV (1984), NKJV, ESV, NLT, GNT, AMPC, AMP, MSG, NASB (1995), CSB, TPT, NRSV, RSV, BSB, CEV, GW, HCSB, LSB, MEV, NET, NIrV, ERV, EASY, TLB, NABRE, ASV, Darby, YLT, and Tyndale (1537).

You can type in the version menu to find a version. You can pin the versions that you use most, and they show at the top of the menu.

The Passion Translation (TPT) has the New Testament only. Settings › Bible versions shows the full title and the copyright of each version. FlowCast reads the text of a version when you first use it. Thus, the versions that you do not use take no memory.

Download more versions

  1. Click the Settings button in the top bar.
  2. Click Bible versions. You can also click the download button next to the version menu.
  3. Find a version.
  4. Click Download.

The panel lists the English versions that eBible.org lets you download and share. Some examples are the World English Bible, the Geneva Bible, and the Douay-Rheims. FlowCast keeps downloaded versions on the computer, so they also operate without internet. You can remove a downloaded version from the same panel.

How some versions show

The AMPC and the AMP put cross-references in brackets in their verses, such as “[Heb. 11:3.]”. Slides leave them out. The Scriptures panel shows the full verse.

The Message prints most of its text in paragraphs. Some versions, such as the CEV, the Living Bible, and the ERV, join two or more verses. FlowCast shows such verses as one, numbered by their range, such as “16–21”. A reference to a verse inside the range shows the whole range.

Caution: Most of these versions are under copyright. Get permission from each publisher before you use or share FlowCast with them. The KJV, ASV, BSB, Darby, YLT, and Tyndale are in the public domain.
